Tom Fischer - "Picky Tom"

As a lifelong boater and fisherman Tom Fischer entered the marine industry in 1986 as a boat salesman in Miami, Florida. He represented Grady White and Aquasport as well as other boat lines. He became active in the industry and served as the president of the Marine Industries Association of South Florida. In late 1988 Tom moved to the Keys and managed the sales department at Caribee marina offering Grady White, Pursuit, Hewes and Action Craft. In 1989 he met his wife Cheryl who was also a boater and they decided to move back to Miami and start a family.

From his industry experience Tom realized the need to fill a niche for both dealers and private owners to be able to sell their clean, quality pre-owned boats offering immediate payment. Also he knew there was a market for buyers looking to purchase this type of premium quality boat at a competitive price, usually saving thousands over the price of a new boat.

In 1989 Tom decided to start Fischer Marine. After renting space from a boat trailer dealer on a small lot on US1 in South Miami, Fischer Marine began to grow. The marine industry welcomed the ability to liquidate unwanted trade-ins, and sales were growing. Then came hurricane Andrew in 1992.

After fully recovering from Andrew, in 1994 he made the decision to relocate to Florida's west coast in Fort Myers. They began immediately to re-establish Fischer Marine operating out of their home until 1997 when they had an opportunity to rent a storefront. Since then Fischer Marine has continued to grow and diversify into what it is today. In 1999 they purchased property and built a beautiful new facility. Besides purchasing boats outright they now offer consignment and yacht brokerage services, buyers agency services as well as Yamaha and Mercury factory outboard service.

Tom is active in the industry and is a member of the Marine Industries Association of South Florida, former Vice President of the Southwest Florida Marine Industries Association, serves on the N.A.D.A marine blue book advisory board, ABOS marine blue book advisory board, is a member of Yacht World, Florida Yacht Brokers Association, as well as a member of the local Chamber of Commerce. Fischer Marine has also been voted a Top 100 dealer 2 years in a row, and is a Five Star Certified Marine Dealership.

In 2010 due to expansion into new products and services including off road vehicles, buggies and airboats he added the website www.RedneckYachts.com.

Pat graduated from VO-Tech school in 2002 where he took Marine Mechanics as his vocation. Pat then got a Pell Grant to return the following year. He finished the program and went to work in a sand mine as a Maintenance Mechanic servicing all the heavy equipment, the dredge and service boat. He left the mine in 2006 and went to finish Loader Operator for a year with Killebrew Construction. Pat then moved down to Ft. Myers, FL to be an Industrial Electrician for Youngquist Brothers. Pat also worked as a Pest Control Tech until 2009.
He started with Fischer Marine in April of 2010 and is a Certified Service Tech. Pat has completed his Yamaha Certification and is continuing his education at Yamaha University! Great Job Pat!
